Allie: Boy, it’s so dark! Do you know where you’re going, captain?
Captain: Ok crew… I admit it, we’re lost!
All: Oh NO! Say it isn’t true! I’m afraid of the dark.
Bubba: (ignored by all) Aren’t their alligators in the everglades?
1st Mate: Captain, are you sure it was a good idea to test out a new 50 foot boat in the everglades? (Captain gives her a displeased look)
Captain: Look! Over there! It’s a canal. If we just wade up that canal, I’m sure we will get to civilization. Does anyone have any kind of light?
1st Mate: (Loudly) I have some matches!
Captain: Matches! Great! What luck! (Allie and Gattie congratulate her)
Allie: Fantastic! Now we have a sporting chance.
Gattie: Let’s go for it captain!
Captain: Alright number one! We’re off!! (Captain "lights" a match and all huddle close to him except Bubba, who pulls a flashlight out of his pocket and walks backwards looking behind him)
1st Mate: It sure is hard to see. (An alligator "floats" by)
Gattie: Oh, look! A log to lean on while we wade….. (Gattie drops to the floor)
Allie: Captain!! We just lost Gattie! She just slipped under the water.
Captain: Well, let’s press on. Everyone else OK? (others respond except Bubba) Bubba?
Bubba: (still walking backward with his flashlight) Fine sir. Couldn’t be better.
Allie: Aaahhhh…..(Allie goes under the "water")
Captain: Oh no! Not another one!!
1st Mate: Captain, My skirt is getting all wet. I think I’ll go over to the side and walk on the branches in the water. (Walks away from the group and disappears)
Captain: (to 1st Mate who is no longer there) If we only had a brighter light we would be able to see anything dangerous. Oh NO! Number one? Number one? Where are you? (stops and removes hat) She was the best first mate I ever had! (back to business) Well Bubba, it’s just you and me. You must have amazing night vision! Stick close to me, we’re almost out of matches. (stops and strains to hear) We should be almost there, I think I hear some cars on a road. Rats!! (dropping his last match) That was our last match! (Captain bumps into a tree and gets tangled in the branches) Oh NO! Bubba! Bubba!
Bubba: (Turns around and shines the flashlight in his face.) Sir? Oh, there you are?
Captain: (amazed and dumbfounded) YOU have a FLASHLIGHT?
Bubba: Sure do! And it’s a dandy!
Captain: (really angry) Why in thunderation didn’t you tell us when I asked if anyone had a light?
Bubba: Well, you didn’t ask specifically for a flashlight. I didn’t want to impose, and you seemed so excited about the matches.
Captain: But YOU had a BETTER light!
Bubba: I was kinda hoping that maybe you would just notice my light and ask me about it! (both Freeze)
Narrator: "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
