Scene II

Cast: Sam (Father), Lucy (Mother), Ben (Son), Ruthie (Daughter) Lost couple who knocks on door: Mike (Husband), Suzy (a very pregnant Wife)
Scene: Family in the living room. Mom is wrapping presents. Dad is working on the computer (laptop). Ben and Ruthie are playing Nintendo. Start fighting over game.
Mom: Will you two please quit fighting! This is supposed to be a season of joy.
Dad: Yeah, joy. Hug each other and say I Love You!
Ben and Ruthie: Ooh! No way! (Ruthie tries to hug Ben)
Ben: Get away from me or I will eat you for dinner!
Ruthie: Mom, Ben said he was going to eat me for dinner!
(Mike and Suzy enter from stage left and knock on the door.)
Mom: Will you two please hush, someone is at the door.
Dad: Who could be knocking on our door this late? (Dad gets up out of chair and goes to the door with Mom).
Mom: (opens door) Hi, can I help you?
Mike: We were looking for the Bettlehams.
Mom: I'm sorry, but you have the wrong house.
Suzy: (to Mike) I can't believe it. It's Christmas Eve and we can't even find the right house. I told you to stop and ask for directions.
Mike: (to Mom) I'm sorry, my wife is just a little tired. We have been traveling all day and she gets kind of grumpy when she doesn't get enough rest.
Suzy: I GET kind of GRUMPY when you are so stubborn and think you know everything and won't stop and ask for directions.
Mike: We'll be on our way now. Sorry to have bothered you folks. Have a nice Christmas.
Mom: I hope you get where you're going soon.
Mike: So do I.
Mom: Merry Christmas.
Mom: (to dad) Those poor people can't find where they're going on Christmas Eve and she looks like she is going to have that baby any time now.
Dad: I've never heard of the Bettlehams before. Kids do you know anyone at school by that name?
Ben: Not that I know of Dad.
Mom: Come on kids. It's time for bed. Tomorrow morning is Christmas. Go get your pajamas on.
Ben: Hold on one minute mom. As soon as I get to the dungeon I can save the princess.
Suzy: (Unplugs brother's Nintendo game) Mom said it's time for bed.
Ben: (brother screams and gets up and chases sister out) You little monster. I'm gonna get you.
Dad: Tis' the season of joy.
Mom: Yea right.
Mom and Dad exit living room.
Ben: (brother screams and gets up and chases sister out) You little monster. I’m gonna get you.
Mom: Yea right.
