SKITips
Speak
so the back of the room can hear you...WITHOUT a microphone!!
Face
your body toward the audience / congregation at all times.
NEVER turn your back to them.
Over
exaggerate!!!!!!!! When you start
feeling weird, it is probably just about right.
Do
not speak too fast. We are in no
need to hurry the skit. Part of the
art of acting is pauses in just the right places.
Anticipate
laughter and don’t speak your lines through it!
If
you forget a line, make up something to keep the skit going, you will get back
on track, possibly by help of the other actor.
AD LIB!
Memorize
your lines well in advance so you can live with them and feel more comfortable.
Things
you can do to enhance your strength as an actor...
o
Voice
Inflection
o
Body
Movement / Gestures
o
Vocal
Tone / Sound like someone else!
o
Look
in a mirror while reciting your lines.
o
Know
the lines of the other actors...your lines depend on it!!!
You may also be able to help someone who forgot THEIR line!
o Above all, just have fun.
