The ABC's of Making a Decision for Christ

A - ADMIT you are a sinner.  Do you know what sin is? Sin is when we do bad or wrong things.  Sin is separation from God.  In Romans 3:23 the Bible says, “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Who does it say has sinned? ALL That includes you and me.

B - BELIEVE that God has a plan to save you.  John 3:16 in the Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” Do you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins? Romans 10:9 in the Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED. Do you believe Jesus Christ came back to life and rose from the grave on the third day? Do you believe that Jesus is alive today? (If you answered "yes" for the first time, then please read on...)

C – COMMIT means to entrust, pledge, or devote. You are committing or devoting (surrendering) your life to Jesus.  You must give your life to Jesus and trust Him to be your Savior and Lord.  After you admit you are a sinner and ask God to forgive you of your sins, you must repent or turn away from your sin and turn to Jesus.  Acts 3:19 in the Bible says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” You must invite Jesus to come into your life to be your Lord and Savior. By inviting Him into your heart, you're promising to obey Him in all areas of your life. You are committing your life to Jesus.

If you have done these ABC's in your heart and you know that you are ready to make the most important decision of your life, then please pray this prayer...

"Dear God, I am a sinner and without you in my life, I have not found my purpose.  I now understand that You desire a relationship with me, the One who made me.  You gave a way for me to find You through Your Son Jesus Christ.  You gave Him up on a cross to die for me because You love me that much.  He took my place on that cross.  God, I believe You gave Your Son for me and I believe in Him and now I give my life to You.  I ask that You become Lord of my life and I want You in my heart.  And with my lips, I now proclaim that, 'Jesus Christ is Lord of all!'  Thank you, God.  It is because of Jesus Christ that I pray even now...Amen."

If you said this prayer, then praise God!  Your next step is to find a church family and talk to the pastor or other minister you can speak to.  Please!  Not just any church will do.  Make sure that Jesus Christ is at the center of their teaching and you might need to visit a few churches before making a decision.  You can now pray and ask God to lead you to the right church family.  Normally, a church will counsel with you and will want you to follow your decision in baptism (A symbolic public statement of your new faith in Christ showing that our sins -our old ways- are washed away and as we rise back up, we are new in Christ Jesus.)  All things become new in Christ!  Please email us if you have any questions about a new church.  We will help you as much as we can.  Remember God loves you and we do too.
